Chiller rental in the Phoenix area

Temporary chillers and air handlers for chilled-water buildings, process cooling, planned outages, and large spaces.

When you need a rental chiller

  • Chiller failure or repair in a building with a chilled-water system
  • Planned replacement of a central plant chiller or cooling tower
  • Process cooling for manufacturing, plastics, food and beverage, or labs
  • Supplemental capacity during peak summer loads
  • Large temporary spaces cooled with a chiller plus temporary air handlers

What goes into a chiller rental

Beyond the chiller itself, expect to plan for hoses or piping to connect to the building loop (often via existing or newly installed connection points), pumps, power — commonly 480V three-phase or a generator — and placement on a pad or paved area accessible to a truck. Installation and tie-in are typically done by the rental provider or a licensed mechanical contractor.

Planned chiller work is easiest to schedule outside the hottest months, when demand for rental equipment is lower.

Why sizing matters in Phoenix

Phoenix summer afternoons routinely run well above 105°F, and air-cooled equipment loses capacity as outdoor temperatures climb. Undersized temporary cooling may keep up in the morning and fall behind by mid-afternoon. Tell the provider your worst-case conditions — sun exposure, roof type, peak occupancy — not just the floor area.

What a provider will ask

  • The space: square footage, ceiling height, type of space, and how many people or how much equipment is in it.
  • Existing system: what failed (if anything) and its tonnage — the nameplate on the existing unit is a great shortcut.
  • Power: what’s available near where the unit would sit (standard outlets, 208/240V, three-phase), or whether a generator is needed.
  • Placement: where the unit can go, how hot exhaust air and condensate will be handled, and how ducts or hoses get inside.
  • Duration and access: start date, expected length, delivery access, and working hours.

How it works

  1. Send the form. For a failure in progress, choose “Emergency” so it’s flagged as urgent.
  2. We line it up with a vetted, licensed and insured local rental company that serves your area and has the right equipment.
  3. The provider contacts you to confirm sizing, power, and logistics, and quotes you directly. There’s no fee to you for using this service.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Air-cooled or water-cooled rental chiller?

Most rental chillers are air-cooled because they don’t need a cooling tower. Ask the provider how capacity changes at high Phoenix ambient temperatures.
